John and I have always talked about adopting, it's been on my heart for the last 20 years or so. I can remember asking my mom for a baby on my Christmas list- not really sure why she and Dad never gave me that gift. HA!
Well......the past two mornings that I have been driving to work I have heard the information for COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL. This is a non-profit, Christian organization that sponsors children overseas. Their company donates at least 83 cents of every dollar straight to the child....THAT'S UNHEARD OF!
I have prayed the last two mornings that if God would want me to spend his money on Compassion that he would make it very clear to me. Could not have been any clearer!! Today John sends me an email at work saying, "I think I'm going to sponsor a child through Compassion-I really want to do that." WHOA---God has spoken...to both of us....at the same time.
Tonight we spent some time online and both of us "adopted!"
We chose two little 5 year old boys, both from Indonesia---we picked the same country so that we can make a trip their to see them both in the coming years.
Consider giving in this way---our country is so blessed---God requires us to feed the poor---and it's an honor to do this.
