About two months into John and I's dating relationship we made a dating bucket list.....things that we wanted to do together throughout the dating process. Because we did our first year of dating 10 hours apart, we had more than enough phone time to dream about the things we would like to do together.
We had some pretty random things on the list which to the naked eye may seem pretty ridiculous or boring. For us....things that we hadn't experienced together...
-12 hour road trip
-swim with dolphins
-sailing
-surfing
-volunteer together
-professional sporting event
...and others
As our honeymoon came to a close we realized that on our honeymoon we had completed all of our bucket list. For a moment I was devastated and the thought of, "Oh my gosh...what will we possibly have to do for the next 50 years" really did cross my mind.
After much chatting and the re-dreaming process, our list has slowly earned a few items over the past month and a half! Some of these are very, very audacious dreams that only God can give us. Some may not be right or may not happen but they are on our hearts for now, and are things that we will be praying over for the next year.
We want to be intentional in life-making our time more about others than ourselves. Lord--help us not to lose sight of this. That this world is so temporary and that all things are nothingness in your eyes.
2010-
-Foster Parenting
-Adopting
-Missions Trips
-Finishing our Deck
-John starting and finishing school and TEACHING/coaching!
-Visiting my dad at least once every 3-4 months
......more to come I'm sure
I feel like writing things down makes them official....I'm thrilled now to see if God will write these on the wall as part of his plan!

Big Dreams indeed - yet attainable for sure! Having the heart to adopt is such a wonderful gift. I admire it in others, yet never saw it as something "I could do". Dear friends of mine are in China - today - adopting their 3rd child. First son, Chinese, daugter, South Korea, and now another son from China. Truly wonderful, godly people.....you can read about them here.....
