Public Prayer

John and I were enjoying a FREE date a few weeks ago at a restaurant we never would have tried--but thanks to a gift-card we were blessed by, we indulged! It was divine! The food, the atmosphere and the best part was the extremely hot company sitting across the table from me!

Before we dug in John blessed the food. I have to say, while he was praying I thought to myself, "this one's getting long babe.....we don't need the whole prayer list done right here and now" but of course he knows best and my flesh was in the way (or the pasta was).

We made our way through dinner and randomly our waitress brought us 2 glasses of champagne, which we didn't order and would never pay for (I'd much rather splurge on chocolate desert than a beverage). She then said, "this is from the couple at the next table."

We looked up to thank them and then began what turned into a 1/2 hour conversation. It turns out that they saw us praying and it reminded them of when they were young and married. They were the sweetest Christian couple, out celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary. It was definitely a God appointment. They blessed us tremendously with their advice and love. We ended up exchanging phone numbers and now we have a dinner date planned! They are a little older than our parents and they want to introduce us to a newly married couple new to Charlotte. So--triple date it is and we are so excited.

It's so amazing how God brings people in your life at such a divine time for such a purpose. We don't feel we really need or want any other counsel at this point but we see that God has something in mind. We're stepping out in obedience and it's pretty exciting. Whether it's to meet this new couple and get them connected, or something specific we are to learn from this older and experienced couple.

Praying in Public Pays :)
