Happy Veterans Day

Most people who know me, know that I have a HUGE heart for soldiers. I almost never let a soldier in uniform pass me without stopping them and thanking them. I have my students support the soldiers as well whenever I have an opportunity! A few weeks ago I was picking someone up from the airport and saw a soldier standing outside. I knew in my gut I should pull my car over and get out to thank him but felt funny being that dramatic. After driving about 1/4 mile I decided to make the loop and try again. When I returned he was gone and I missed my opportunity. That will NOT happen again.

There are few people I admire in this sick world....and the general group of "soldiers" fits in my admiration category. Anyone who chooses to fight for a group of ungrateful people has my vote in the admiration category and the women who support those men are to be admired as well.

A girl that I went to college with and had almost all of my education classes with is one of those women. I don't know her extremely well but I know she loves the Lord, loves her serving husband, and exhausts herself taking care of their 8 month old son while he is on leave over seas. What a woman of strength. My heart breaks for her situation but she's so incredibly tough and absolutely inspiring to me.

I cried reading her facebook updates today....her hubby is almost home for a visit and he will get to see his beautiful and supportive wife as well as their son that he was only able to see for about 2 months. I just wish I were a fly on the wall---I wish I could see them both in person and wrap them in warmth.

Lord- Bless and lengthen their time together. I pray you would protect their time from Satan and I pray they both find peace and rest in one another. Bless their marriage with strength and support.

Thank you Veterans and soldiers.
-A very grateful citizen
