I was driving to work this morning and listened to a very intriguing conversation on the radio. The DJ's were debating whether it's manly or not to cry. I honestly haven't really thought about the whole crying thing to a great extent but it kept my attention. (the conversation was sparked by talking about the finale of that show called "The Bachelor"......apparently guys cry on the show ;)
The overall understanding is that men can only cry if they lose a family member or if their wife of 10 years or more leaves them. Whoa! It's down to a science now!! Thank you radio DJ's and aggressive male callers.
The male callers were totally giving guys a hard time---names and all. The main complaint was that a real man doesn't cry. The female callers liked that men were willing to cry but don't want a guy that easily cries or cries often. (agreed)
I was thinking about the men in my life and their emotional responses to life crisis, moments, conversations....tears have happened. No girl wants an emotional sappy sob---but tears from the heart soften and humble me faster than anything!! Most of the men in my life are not men of tears---but the tears that have fallen are etched in my mind for eternity.
Tears= rare occasion
Waterworks= spare me
