Homesick

I can't believe I'm 25 years old and I still get a little homesick. It's true: there really is nothing like home. It's not the house because that's changed, it's not the weather because it's disgusting in Michigan 90% of the time, and it's not exciting events happening in the worst state in the U.S. as far as the economy goes (according to CNN news of last year). It's all about the people.

There are a few things I always anticipate when I go home.....

- Yes I have a sleepover with my mom every time I'm home (puff)
- My mom always has homemade goodies (usually made at the grocery home)
- We always order pizza (mmmmm)
- We usually decorate something or shop (professional help for free)
- Andy and I laugh endlessly at mom (not at her....with her...it's because she really is funny
- The feeling of being taken care of-leaving worries at the door

I can remember when I went on vacation with a good friend when we were young. I was homesick on the trip and I remember calling home and my dad walking me through the "you'll be fine and Friday will be here before you know it." He was right....time comes before you know it and it's back home again!

I always love coming home (Charlotte), but I also love going home (Michigan).
