I am my mother's child

I don't really know how my mother was so successful in birthing 3 children who love to decorate....2 of them being boys! My mother has extreme-mad talent in the area of decor (and other things). She has been on her companies magazine several times, spoken at National Rallies, and been a top seller in the United States more times than I can count. In other words---she is ridiculously amazing at making things look fabulous :) Thank goodness I get her professional advice for FREE!!

When we originally bought this house---it hadn't been lived in for 5 years. From the looks of it--I think the people decided to take everything with them when they left...including things like carpet and floors and such. awesome. So----before we bought the house I called my mother and it went something like this:

Me: mom, the house is a mess.
Mom: honey, we can take care of that. NOT a problem.
Me: Mom-this is more than decorating--the house is a wreck.
Mom: Honey--there is nothing that paint can't fix.

And that was that. Months later---the house is LOVELY and much is to thank to my mother. I have had such a blast "nesting" in this place! This weekend John and I finally finished the bedroom--- Well- we started last weekend and it's finished this weekend. (My mother always taught me to start and finish a room within 24 hours. LOL. This is the 1st time a room in my possession has not been completed in that time frame....it was awful waiting on the weekend. Dreadful. Painful. Yuck.)

So---here is the semi-grand finale. There are a few things left to purchase...another day-another pay check.

Thank you Mom---you always have the answer---even 13 hours away we can still decorate together. I love you!!!

(the first time we saw the house.....whoa)

(no floors--holes in doors---half the paint was off...did they take that too?)

(we had an amazing contractor...Mr. Steve Webb...it looked fabulous after he got a hold of it)

(but...being my mother's child-this room needed some C.O.L.O.R.)

(It all stemmed from the shower curtain colors...)

(paint, curtains, fabulous backdrop behind the bed, comfy bedding...it's complete for now)
