Vegas Weddings

My sweetest of sweet fiance brought flowers to my work today. I was in the middle of teaching when my boss brought them to my door-of course this brought the house down with 30 6th graders giggling and asking questions.

Any relationship talk brings a very insightful conversation.

"who brought those for you?"
"my fiance"
"ooooooo"
(i smiled)
"When are you getting married?"
"In May."
"Where?"
"In Charlotte."
"Can we all come?"
(how do I break it??) "Ummm...well I would love you to but there are 90 of you who would want to come"
"ya...so?"
"well....the thing is.."
(a very jolly kid interrupts) "why don't you get married in Las Vegas?"
"well, I just dont want to"
"My parents did."
"why?"
"because of the lights...they're lit up at night"
"So, your parents got married in Vegas because of the lights?"
"ya...isn't that cool?"

We all have different dreams.....mine is a little more "unlightly" :)
