Size Matters

John and I, who feel we are now professional campers (who in actuality have done it twice together) decided to take some friends camping, who have never experienced the wonder and beauty of it all (kind of).

My good friend Lisa and I had a blast planning out the details of this momentous occasion. We did all of our internet research to find the greatest hot spot for camping here in Charlotte (if there is such a thing). We finally decided on the best campground (price determined of course). Our total fee for our campsite----12.00!!! Now that's an affordable night of fun!

So off we go, skipping and frollicking through the woods to our campsite on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Our coolers packed, wood logs chopped, and all smores supplies handy.

The gentlemen begin to set up camp, using the coolest tent that we borrowed from a friend. This is the mac daddy of all tents with two bedrooms connected to a middle screened in section. It's huge! Every campers dream!!

Once the middle section was set up, the mountain men realized it was too big for our campsite (that's what 12.00 will get you now days). So, the men then proceed to tear down the tent and put up the 2 back up tents that we own.

And at last, our tents are up and glory is to be had.

We enjoy the fire

We share in many laughs

and then get ready for a great nights sleep.

We decided to have our guests sleep in the nicer tent and we took the blue one. The tent that is 4x4ft. Yes thats right---the tent is not even large enough for me to stretch my legs straight or both of us to sleep on our backs at the same time.

After spending most of the night not sleeping---morning finally came and the nightmare of that tent ended.

Camping---I once again realize why I like most if---except the actual camping part. So next time, its a bonfire in the backyard and my own bed to follow. Tents are for the birds.
