I just watched myself teaching on video-gross.
I am part of a research project where they video tape me teaching over the next two years and analyze my methods and let me tell you...it was not pretty no matter how you look at it.
1. I sound like a nasaly man
2. Did my hair really look that flat?
3. WOW---can we say hand gesture overload?
4. Are the kids really that bored?
OKay---get yourself together Kylie, I'm sure everyone feels like that watching themselves back on tape. No, your hair was just having a rough 1st block class, it got better second period I'm sure. And kids....bored, HA! This is school remember--where the mind thrives and kids are sitting on the edge of their seat in suspense anticipating your next word.
Anytime you want a humility check, tape yourself.
Then delete it.

Kylie, this is why I love you! I have to video myself teaching all the time-- and sometimes I can't even bring myself to watch it. It's funny to envision things in a lesson going one way while you're teaching it... only to find, while watching the video, they actually went very differently. Ah, self reflection... and the delete button :)
