I had the TV on yesterday while I got some chores done around the house. I was disgusted at what I saw.
A talk show host was interviewing survivors of the flood in Tenn. This was their conversation....and unfortunately I am not even kidding.
Host: So what was it like not being able to go to a shelter?
Victim: It was awful. I couldnt go, I just couldnt.
Host: I wouldn't be able to leave on the boat either, people need to understand that asking someone to leave your pet behind is like asking to leave a child behind.
Victim: exactly. I couldnt leave my dog there, I decided to stay and take the chance of dieing.
Maybe this is not Christlike but seriously. You are going to tell me that you want the world to go out of there way during a crisis to send MORE HELP because you think your dog is more important than human life. You are rejecting a lifeboat for a dog because they dont have room for your pet and need to put more PEOPLE on it.
Sick. I'm seriously so angry.....that is the most selfish thing I've heard in a while. PETS ARE NOT PEOPLE.
