The Book my flesh does not agree with

I've been learning more and more about credibility as I do this "walk" with Christ. I've had to learn the hard way that only the bible can be fully trusted and that preachers, worship leaders, deacons, and church members have a flesh. The people I want to trust whole heartedly with my soul-cannot be. It takes a significant amount of time to learn and study the men of God that can be trusted to pour into your growth and soul as a Christ follower.

One Godly man that we do trust in the Crowley household is John MacArthur. This man knows his stuff and I trust what he preaches and teaches. He doesn't use his opinion or stories to get the point across--he uses the Bible. We first heard of him from trusted friends and John and I have really appreciated the work God has put in him to do. It's good food.

John picked up his book, "Right Thinking in a World Gone Wrong" and it has really been a book that my flesh lacks desire to read. It's the kind of book that convicts you into holiness and repentance. His use of explaining the Bible, the right and wrong on worldly issues is direct and not what the secular world wants to hear (not really what I want to hear either).

We're starting with some smaller changes in this household....no rated R movies and if PG-13 have sexual content-it's out of the question. We are also carefully censoring our music intake. We mostly listen to Christian music but we are trying to push that to the extreme.

Another change we are slowly making (with God's grace) is fighting the temptation to want to be political activist in our own right. God is in control- we need to respect and honor authority and as much as we disagree with everything Obama stands for, God is bigger. If we are spending more time worrying about Obama instead of lost souls who are doomed for hell-we are in the wrong. This is a whole new way of thinking for us that feels like a wrestling match---we wont win so we're working on giving that up.

Challenging read by a trusted source--you wont be the same after, if you let God work on your heart.
