I'm a woman of God. I'm a wife. I'm a daughter. I'm a sister. I'm a teacher. I'm living by God's grace to bring him glory, by him and through him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17

Valentines Evil
I do enjoy Valentines Day--I am definitely one to embrace any kind of love whether we are forcing someone to give it, or it's done freely. It's amusing watching men scurry into Target on February 13th and making a mad dash for the card section. It's exciting to see who the flowers are for that arrive in the office. It's all a fuss to see and it's awesome!
With that said....
A teacher came into my classroom the other day making a fuss over a Valentine that she received from a student. I didn't really pay much attention and she left it on my front table to read when I had a minute.
I picked up the store bought valentine and it read:
"You'd be so much cooler if you were me"
WOW--thank you Jim Benton valentines company. You have officially ruined some child's perceived friendship with another and mutilated the whole idea of sharing "love" with someone else through a cute/friendly card. Way to make the world a better place--
I'm frustrated. In my opinion, this disgusts me that any parent would buy these for their children to pass out. It disappoints me that any retailer has the nerve to sell them, and it makes me feel sympathy towards anyone receiving it.
Just wanted to enlighten you on what's going on in the real world with Valentines day---at this rate we wont celebrating it 10 years from now.
