Blessed or Blessing?

John and I look at our lives and we are truly abundantly blessed. We go without want.....our needs are fully met with all credit being Christ.

As I was walking down the isle to marry the man of my dreams, I felt prepared. I honestly felt that we had done everything we possibly could to prepare ourselves up to this point. John and I are firm believers that marriage is not really built on love, love initiates the relationship but the marriage built on commitment and Christ. Love is a feeling that can come and go. Commitment and Christ surpass a feeling.

We learned SO much through the pre-engagement and engagement process thanks to brilliant and Godly mentors. Before we were engaged we were starting pre-engagement counseling and we did this with the most amazing couple we know. This couple has 4 children, they own their own business, they home school their children, and they love one another joyfully. It was God's divine purpose for John and I to walk in their shadow and we can only hope to share a marriage as wonderful as theirs.

This couple has poured countless hours into us...and I mean countless. They have become family and such close friends---we owe them so much. We will never be able to repay them but we are intentionally investing in them. As a thank you for all of their devotion during our engagement, and for the heart that he poured into performing our ceremony, we are now giving them an opportunity to grow their marriage in a small way.
